Ideal for a midsize shop, the Jet 708615 AFS-2000 three-speed air filtration system cycles all the air in a 40-foot-by-40-foot-by-10-foot room up to 14 times in one hour. Hung from the ceiling, it clears the room at up to 1700 CFM (cubic feet per minute) and comes standard with a remote control with built-in timer.

The system's three filters--an electrostatic filter, an eight-bag inner filter, and a diffuser filter--combine to remove 99 percent of all particles 5 microns in size and 85 percent of particles 1 micron in size. The end result is a shop that's a lot healthier to breathe in, which lets you worry about more important things, such as the woodworking project at hand. An adjustable exhaust directs the air where you want it for optimal circulation, and the air diffuser helps to disperse outgoing air into a broader pattern. And even when set on high, the quiet AFS-2000 is about as noisy as a standard floor fan blowing through a living room.
